Check out some opportunities for deeper learning at the Chula Vista Public Library.
Over school breaks, not all kids have the opportunity to go to the public library- so we bring the library to them! Check out out local outreach partnership with the South Bay YMCA where we show students how to access the Chula Vista Public Library 24 hours a day!
Check out the Chula Vista Public Library's LEAP into Reading program. During this Library Enrichment Afterschool Program, students from local schools came together at the South Chula Vista Branch to learn about the importance of understanding characters in stories. Check out what students experienced during this project based opportunity.
Many schools and classes come to visit their local public library. Class tours are great way for teachers and students to find out about the many resources that the library can offer. When a class from High Tech High joined us at the one-year-old Otay Branch Library, we pushed ourselves to design three mini workshops to make this tour relevant to our students.
